Recurring dream figures perform acrobatic feats to escape imprisonment.

At the border:

Walking towards a crossing. The officials will probably let me pass, but maybe I should turn in the woman I spotted. She's the kind they're trying to catch. Then they'll believe I'm okay and let me cross. A man in worn clothes and hat sails in an arc over the barrier. I am all three: the vulnerable victim; the one who considers betrayal; and also the one who flies over obstacles, scorns the forces that would imprison.

On the island of my dream Alcatraz:

A man swan dives off a high rampart. He plunges straight down. Before striking the earth, he pulls up to fly horizontal to the ground. He shoots away from the prison. His face becomes an angular mask. Colors stream out from his face and wings.

Women in pastel leotards with belled legs acrobatically depart. They somersault and cartwheel and flip. Their dance crosses the sands, toward the ocean and freedom.






I write about my dreams here. When I began the journal, it was more social, but over time it's become more a way of interacting with the world of dreams than the waking world. I periodically mess about with the filters to make important dreams public and to hide dreams that I decide are rather more banal than they seemed at first remembering. Currently, everything but dreams that are truly important to me are on one filter or another. The way entries are classified continues to change as I learn more about my dream themes. My narratives are written to cue my own memories of mood and texture, so I'm afraid they may be enigmatic. This is a side effect rather than an intention, and my gratitude goes to my friends who read them, because they support my dreaming.
